He Is Risen So We Are!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Happy Easter!

Jesus is risen and is alive forever. Every Sunday as we get together to worship God, we are reminded of Jesus’ resurrection. In utter gratitude and excitement, we should offer our adoration and praises to the Father who sacrificed His only begotten Son Jesus and has raised Him in His Spirit and power. Every Sunday is a celebration of Christ’s resurrection. And every Sunday is jubilation that we too will be resurrected and raptured sometime as Christ returns back to us to establish His Millennial Kingdom here on earth.

It is not a coincidence that on this Easter Sunday, we are opening up our EM Sunday schools and will see the little children running around in our sanctuary and hear their lively voices of laughter and worship. We are also opening up our EM West Parking Lot so that parents with young children as well as newcomers can park their cars there. And also we are making the grass area of the EM parking lot available for fellowship and simple refreshments.

It has been a little over a year since we have been worshipping God mostly online. Now, more of our church members are coming to the church to worship God. There has been a longing and itching to come physically to the sanctuary with other brothers and sisters to worship God and enjoy fellowship. Also, there have been people itching to serve God and His people by serving the church. Thus, this is your new opportunity to serve Christ by serving His Body.

You see love is always expressed in two forms, by giving and by serving. We give and serve because we love. To our beloved spouses and children, because we love them, we give our money, time and energy to them and serve them and their needs. And if we were to love Christ, then we are called to give and serve for the sake of His Body. Jesus is risen. Not only that, He has ascended back to Heaven and sits on the throne of God’s right hand. But His Body still remains here on earth. That is His church. Thus, the most effective and tangible way to love Christ is by giving and serving His Body, the church.

There are many ways you can serve this Body of Christ. We are in need of volunteers for our crying room, nursery and toddler’s room. Contact either Mandie Ham, Esther Park or Christine Park. We need brothers and sisters for parking lot ushering and the welcoming ministry. If interested, contact either Elder Bobby or Brother Steven Sok. And of course, as always, we need more people in the media team as they were such vital instruments of God during the pandemic making our worship and activities possible virtually. For this, you can contact Deacon Bryan Hong. And as our EDU departments are opening up, when they reach out to you to serve, openly and prayerfully consider to join.

I am very happy and excited to see more of our brothers and sisters face to face, even if we see only half of our faces due to masks. Nevertheless, there is more excitement and joy in the air. If our walk and worship have been a little deteriorated, now is the time to restore our walk and worship. Not only that, let’s engage in the works of God as well while we continually prioritize our daily walk with God which is the daily worship of God. He is risen so we are! Love you all.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

SUNDAY PRAYER TIME: Join us before service at 9:10am and 11:20am to intercede and pray for our church, our service, and our nation - online or in person.

EM PARKING: As more people are joining our in-person services and parking is becoming more difficult, we will be reopening our EM West Parking Lot on Sundays for newcomers and parents with young children. If you are having trouble finding parking in the Valencia lot, you may also park in the Brookhurst Lot across the street from the Vision Center. We kindly ask that our members respect our neighbors by not parking on residential streets. Thank you!

SPRING REVIVAL WITH BOB SORGE: We will have a series of revival services with Bob Sorge joining us in person on Friday April 9 at 7:30 in the Vision Center with the KM, Saturday April 10 at 6:00PM in the Miracle Center and Sunday April 11 during our usual Sunday worship times of 9:20 and 11:30am with different messages each service.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: As we are gradually reopening our ministry, we are in need of volunteers to serve in our Welcoming, Parking, Media and children’s ministries. Contact your cell leader or any staff member if you’d like to take ownership in our ministry and help by serving!

CHILDREN’S REVIVAL: Our EDU department will be having a revival for 1st-5th graders Thursday Apr 15 through Saturday Apr 17 from 7:30pm-9pm. BIBLE TIME: The April issue of Bible Time will be freely available to our members at Sunday Worship. Those who are unable to come to church in person can request a copy be sent by mail by using this form.

SHILOH+ is on Thursday nights in person and online from 8PM-9:30PM. We begin with a time of praise followed by a short topical message and an extended time of corporate prayer. Those who are attending in person are invited to stay for individual prayer time until 10PM.

GRACE 24/7 PRAYER WATCH is a virtual prayer watchtower for us to pray in a continuous chain for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during this time of the coronavirus pandemic. Join by signing up for 30 minute prayer slots at gmiem.org/prayerwatch.

EARLY MORNING PRAYER is ongoing, Monday thru Saturday at 6am, in person and live on our YouTube channel. Let’s continue to seek God and fervently pray against COVID-19!

NIGHT PRAYER: The Miracle Center sanctuary is open for a time of individual prayer from 8PM to 10PM every night, Sunday through Thursday night. Masks are required and the usual COVID precautions apply. Let’s continually seek after the Lord until tsunami-like revival comes!

NIGHT OF SPIRIT AND FIRE: Night of Spirit and Fire is now available in person as well as on Zoom from 8PM to 10PM on Saturdays in the Miracle Center sanctuary. Come for a time of individual prayer time and seeking the presence of the Holy Spirit.

SERMON DISCUSSION OUTLINES: Our weekly cell group sermon discussion outlines will be available Monday afternoons to anyone who wishes to further study and meditate on the previous Sunday’s sermon. The outlines can be found on the sermons page on our website at www.gmiem.org/sermons.

GUIDELINES FOR IN PERSON WORSHIP

Those who wish to attend Sunday worship in person will undergo a mandatory health screening and provide contact information upon arrival. All attendees must maintain good social distancing and wear a mask covering the nose and mouth all times, including those individuals who may have been vaccinated.

Please park and enter from the Valencia lot on the east side of the building by the Koinonia Room. Parents with young children and newcomers may park and enter from the west lot.

We want to encourage all of our members to make it a priority to come and worship in person if it is at all possible in order to give the Lord our heart and soul through the worship He deserves.

However, for the health, safety and edification of our congregation we ask that the following categories of people do not attend in person:

• Anyone experiencing any symptoms of any sickness of any kind.

• People who have attended any social, business or other gatherings in the last 14 days where not all attendees were wearing masks while within 6 feet distance.

• Frontline health care workers and others who may have had direct contact with those infected by coronavirus within the previous 14 days.

• We continue to recommend that those in close contact with the elderly and other high risk groups do not attend for the safety of the most vulnerable.

We ask that congregants exit the building promptly after service and have fellowship outside. Other than Sunday worship and Early Morning Prayer, all other church activities will continue to be online only unless otherwise noted.

GUIDELINES FOR ONLINE WORSHIP

We have phased out Zoom and are on YouTube only starting in April

It can be difficult to maintain a proper heart posture for worship while surrounded with the comforts and distractions of home. Here are some guidelines to help you keep the proper attitude as we worship God together:

• Please prayerfully join the worship

• Have a right heart and body posture as you worship Him (ie. wash up, get dressed, sit up and don’t lie down)

• Remove any distractions

• Find a place where you and/or your entire family can focus on worshiping God

• Use the largest screen available to worship

• Be ready to give offering online

• During the message please refrain from interacting each other in chat to focus more on the Word.

PARENT RESOURCES

Though we are opening up our nursery, toddler room and Pre-K room ministries, as parents we are all called to be spiritual leaders for our children. Particularly for those parents who still are unable to come to church in person, we have assembled some resources to help you along the way. They can be found on our website at gmiem.org/parents.

CELL GROUPS

All of our cell groups are currently meeting via Zoom conferencing software. During this time of isolation, we highly encourage all of our members to proactively seek out and join a cell group. Although we are not meeting physically, these times of prayer, worship and fellowship are crucial to maintaining our spiritual health and growth.
